Do you find that sometimes when you are meditating, you can’t seem to stop the mind chatter. Don't worry, that's normal. It happens to me a lot! It’s like the mind is a room full of rowdy 1st graders. If left unattended, they remain noisy and doing whatever they please. Here’s a trick to try in attempting to tame the noise:
Imagine that suddenly the Teacher walks into the room. Without saying a word, just with the power of her presence the room goes silent. Notice and listen to the silence. Continue to imagine the Teacher standing in the doorway of your mind, her arms crossed in front of her with a calm but serious look on her face. As long as she is observing, things stay quiet. Try it next time your rowdy mind chatter is keeping you from meditating.
I can help you with this journey of freeing yourself from the seemingly ceaseless mind chatter and create a more peaceful daily routine.
