Living a Balanced Life

We would all like to have all aspects of our lives equally balanced. But this is a rare existence for most. In reality we must focus on some parts of our lives more than others depending on what is going on. Sometimes we need to focus on family, sometimes on our personal well-being, sometimes on our professional life. Its important to know that you can not focus on everything equally at the same time. But, over time if we do give focus to each area, eventually balance will occur. Whatever balance is for you.

In order to move in this direction, ask these questions: “What areas of my life are not getting as much attention as I would like?” “Where am I focusing most of my attention lately?” “How does this focus line up with my values and goals?”. If you don’t know what your Values and Goals are, then it’s good to explore these questions (write down the answers): “ What are my Values in life?” and “What are my current Goals?”. By getting clarity on these, you can start to focus on the areas that will help move you toward a more balanced life.
